Faerie

Faerie

Once again, Sunday evening has rolled around, just as I was getting used to it being a weekend and not having to go to work.  Sigh.  But work allows me to a.) pay my rent, b.) go op-shopping on a regular basis, and c.) buy card-making supplies.  Those latter two things are VERY important.  This weekend was spent partaking in both delightful activities.

I was staying at my Mum’s as I was cat-sitting for my best friend who lives in the same neighbourhood.  I hauled a bunch of craft supplies over to Mum’s and spent much of Saturday making a bunch of cards and messing up Mum’s house ha ha.  It was a VERY warm day, so it was too hot to do much else, although we did pop out for a spot of op-shopping and we both picked up some bargains before the heat got to us and we went home for some cool respite and a cup of tea (hey, it is NEVER too warm for tea). My brother popped round with my nephew for an hour or two and I had fun playing with Lego and building a castle ruin.  I don’t think you ever get too old to play Lego, although sitting on the floor is rather more uncomfortable than I remember it being when I was my nephew’s age (ie eight), and getting UP off the floor is A LOT more difficult than it used to be too.  Totally worth it though 🙂

This morning, after taking care of the cats, I continued on with my card making.  I knocked this one up really quickly, considering it involved some sewing (the skirt) and dainty scissor work.  I am actually really pleased with it.  I like anything on a stick ; cheese, fruit, lollipops and, in this case, a fairy.  She’s a stylish little lady, with no need for legs – she has wings, after all – who needs legs!?

My cousin called in at midday and she, my Mum and I all went out for another round of op-shopping.  There is one great shop near Mum that is open for a few hours on a Sunday and it always has fabulous stuff.  Today was even better as everything was 50% off.  I will show you what I got in an upcoming post, but it was definitely worth going.  Plus, thankfully, it was very cool in there with air-conditioning blasting away (so Mum didn’t wilt too much).  We went out for lunch (and more tea, of course) and had a lovely afternoon.  It was a nice way to round off the weekend.

Trying not to let the obligatory Sunday Evening Blues get to me.  I had a nice weekend and I am very grateful for time spent with some of my favourite people, doing things I love.

Hope you had a wonderful weekend too 🙂
