Blog Prompt : Three Things

Blog Prompt : Three Things

So I am cheating with another blog prompt thingy.  But then, while you’re reading this, I am probably still on my Mum’s couch, being all pathetic and pain-suffering after my surgery so I’m sure you can forgive me a bit of cheating.  It’s better than not writing anything at all for weeks on end.  Or, maybe that would be preferable, given the quality of my blogging just lately.
Oh well, you decide and let me know.

Three Things

  • Three celebrity crushes : Vincent D’Onofrio, Jason Bateman, Paul Rudd
  • Three favorite book characters : Flora Post (from Cold Comfort Farm), Scout (from To Kill a Mockingbird), and Liesel (from The Book Thief).
  • Three favorite things to wear : Black boots, anything stripey, anything blue.
  • Three things you want in a relationship : Respect, empathy, kindness.
  • If you had to evacuate your home because of a natural disaster, what three things would you take with you? : Photos (but that’s an obvious thing), my song lyric collage and my diaries (just in case the natural disaster was disastrous enough to destroy them entirely.  Can’t let those suckers be read by ANYONE).
  • Three pet peeves : Cynicism, ignorance, smoking.
  • Three things you’d do if you weren’t so afraid : Skydiving, dancing, follow my bliss.
  • Three favorite TV shows : Buffy, Seinfeld, Ballykissangel.
  • Three things you can’t go without : Music, Cheerios, Tea (and lots of it).
Blog Prompt : 26 Letters

Blog Prompt : 26 Letters

“Create a short story, piece of memoir, or epic poem that is 26 sentences long, in which the first sentence begins with “A” and each sentence thereafter begins with the next letter of the alphabet…”

Always searching

Bending backwards

Creating a sense of calm

Deflecting the hurt

Easing the ache

Forever hiding from harm

Gently existing

Hindering self

Intending to raise the alarm

Joyful dreaming

Kindred spirits

Leading with open arms

Meaningful silence

Nonsense embraced

Openly lying to charm

Patiently waiting

Quest incomplete

Relying on wit to disarm

Speaking no judgment

Traitor to none

Untruth sung out like a psalm

Wallows in self

X marks the spot

Youth remembered as balm

Zoo-like, her heart is caged.  Wild and shackled.  Free, yet tethered.  Beloved but forgotten.
Waiting for extinction, or release.  Whichever happens first.
