Today’s collage contains a line from one of my favourite prose/poem by Max Ehrmann, The Desiderata, that I talked about in a post a few years back. It took me ages to find just the right quote for this little duck lady. She seemed very elegant and poised and I wanted something that was appropriate for her. I did a very shonky letter-stamping job to start with (oh! the tantrums!) and had to collage some paper over the top of it, nearly ruining the whole piece, but I think I (just) saved it in the end. Instead of risking more wonky lettering, I stamped them first on to old book paper before cutting them out and sticking them down. Sometimes I can stamp directly onto the piece I’m working on and I do just fine – nice and straight. At other times it looks like I have been drinking. A lot.
So, in the end, I was quite pleased with this piece. It came together relatively quickly and with minimum fuss (dodgy stamping and minor conniptions aside).
Thank you for stopping by – hope you have a placid, peaceful day 🙂
