A Day in the Country

A Day in the Country

This weekend just gone, Hubby and I spent a day with my Dad and Step-Mum on their property in Boyanup (South-Western Australia). They have 85 acres of lovely farm land, with waterholes and a pine forest, wildflowers and native fauna (translation : lots and lots of kangaroos!).  The weather was gorgeous – bright blue skies, fluffy white clouds and a beautiful sea breeze – just right for going on a nice walk through the fields and bushland that they are lucky enough to have right on their doorstep.  At the moment they don’t have any livestock on the property (sometimes they agist the neighbour’s horses and cattle) as they are in the process of re-fencing the whole area and tidying things up after a recent fire (started by a nasty little firebug on a trail-bike – my dad lost 30 acres of land and trees but it was a blessing no livestock was hurt or their house burnt down!) but Dad is thinking about getting some deer as they are low maintenance (and secretly, I think he just thinks they’re pretty ha ha). I took a few snaps as I went along on our walk – won’t you join me?
