A recurring theme for me lately – the concept of being weird or not fitting in or just embracing the kooky little dork that you are…
I’d been wanting to use the bicycle image for ages, but of course had to modify it slightly. Then it took forever to find just the right kind of bird head to fit in with the image (you can’t just plonk any old bird head on a woman’s body, you know!).
The squirrel was initially supposed to go on top of the bird lady’s hat, but I ran out of room at the top of the picture….
…so he has to ride up front, being careful not to let his lovely tail droop into the spokes of the wheel…(ouch!)…
Thank you for stopping in. Hope your day is worry-free and wonderful 🙂
I’ve been hanging on to this collage for a while and haven’t quite finished it (gotta paint the sides and finish off a bit of detailing) but it’s close enough…
I have it on pretty good authority that most ladylike mermaids keep a pigeon on their shoulder. It distracts the eye from one’s bosom, if one’s bosom is uncovered. However, this mermaid is particularly modest and keeps covered up. So her pigeon is more of fashion statement than a practical piece of adornment with a purpose. I’m not sure if the giant pink shell is a hat or just a thing she likes to carry around with her to match her outfit. Maybe it’s some kind of mermaid ninja throwing star or something.
Hope you and your weekend are weird and wonderful. Be Happy. Be You 🙂
To all my “Sisters from other Misters”……..
I quickly made this card on the weekend from some leftover scraps of lace, paper and an old vintage image of an elegant lady. She’s a little less elegant now…looks like she’s been op-shopping or playing dress-ups.
She has bling on her hat and a label in case she gets lost or forgets who she is 🙂
A little bit of vintage lace is always classy…
I decided she need some earrings too, so she got some dainty pearls at the last minute (not shown in top picture) with a dot of Liquid Pearls. She’s ready to roll now. Off to a tea party or crazy hat convention. I foresee cupcakes and crochet in her future for some reason. Maybe a little white magic and fairy dust too (I stopped short of giving her wings).
Thanks for stopping in – Hope your day is wonderful 🙂
My little mint plant is flowering. You’re not really “supposed” to let them get to flowering stage, but look at how pretty it is! Maybe if we all did what we were born to do, instead of trying to do what we’re “supposed” to do, we’d all be a lot happier and not miss out on what makes us truly blossom.
Or something like that. I don’t know…
Now if I could just work out what I should be doing, I’d be blossoming all over the place. Which sounds slightly messy and unhygienic but I’m sure it would be worth it in the end. I was going to say something about rooting too (as in the way a mint plant takes root wherever it can) but that sounded rude and could be taken out of context. If you’re Australian you will know what I am talking about.
Grow little mint plant, grow
(Yes, I am in a weird mood).
